About the project

Pustakani, a Sankrit word for "Books", is an app that can be used to give away old and unwanted academic books to other students who need them. Many books, including NCERT, NCERT Exemplar, and popular reference books such as Lakhmir Singh, RD Sharma and RS Agarwal, can be listed. Books can be easily searched on the basis of their names and even can be filtered by their location on the map. The app is build using React.

Why is it important

Every year, when I advanced to a new grade, I had plenty of books which I don’t need anymore. Usually, they were scrapped or left in a pile for a long time due to the lack of known people in need. This project aims to reduce the books turned to scrap and ensure they reach the people in need. Books are unique way of sharing and passing the knowledge and hence this app not only help students to pass on the books but also reduce paper wastage. Let’s make a difference with this change.
